Back In the Saddle

As I have been studying much and haven't taken the time to post here, one of the things I have noticed is the enormous amount of e-apologists on youtube.com who really have NO clue as to what they are talking about. With so many "Greek Scholars" and "exegetes" one would think that the modern church as a whole is flourishing with biblical literacy. Such couldn't be further from the truth. The real picture seems to be many lone ranger "Christians" out there who practice solo scriptura. Notice I didn't use the term Sola Scriptura but rather solo. This simply means that they ignore that God has used his church and guided his people throughout history, but rather say they "only need the bible", as if the doctrine of Scripture alone ignores how God has seen fit to providentially lead his church in history.
These online "scholars" have not a lick of historical acumen nor do they even appear to have looked at any church history. They throw out the most ridiculous assertions willy - nilly and when one challenges their assertions and requests they be substantiated, all one can hear forthcoming is crickets chirping. Anyway, I am back in the saddle and will try to get posting here again on a regular basis.
